Smart Architectural Solutions and Design Excellence

Pamela Jean’s Architectural Studio was established by Pamela Jean Wright Winstanley in 2002. Pamela’s maiden name “Wright” was originally synonymous with the word that meant craftsmanship. Still today, this simple ideology continues to define and differentiate Pamela Jean’s approach to architecture.

For one thing, great craftspeople know that it is not just about pretty pictures; it is about care and attention to details, functionality, practicality and purpose. It is also about process, structure, material selection, respect for environmental conditions and so much more.

To make your dream structure a reality, Pamela Jean looks beyond design excellence to achieve harmonious union between client’s requirements, tastes and preferences, the site, associated environmental conditions and technical and legislative considerations.

You can enjoy complete peace of mind in knowing that at Pamela Jean you will work directly with qualified Professional Architectural Technologists who are SACAP registered. Pamela Jean Architecture is also engaged in continual professional development so as to always be compliant of the Architectural Act.

On this basis, Pamela Jean’s team will not only offer the best-in-class architectural design, but will provide significant experience when it comes to City Council applications, correspondence and approvals.

At Pamela Jean we get the job done wright first time – on brief, on time and on budget, every time.

Pamela Jean Wright Winstanley is an architectural technologist with more than 20 years industry experience. She has a National T3 Diploma in Architecture from Witwatersrand Technikon and a studious background in architectural design, draughtsmanship, building services, construction technology, construction science, practical building studies and office organisation.

Pam began her career as a junior draughtsperson with a structural engineering company and was promoted to senior level within 6 months, and was promoted to contracts coordinator soon thereafter.

Pam was responsible for factory liaison on all levels, including delivery of schedules and reports on installation and advanced site requirements. She also managed internal empowerment training, NOSA 5 Star Safety, COD contracts, invoicing and debt collecting. Pam was finally promoted to Sales Executive and this versatile position incorporated intensive client liaison around structural and technical enquiries and site procurement.

In 2000 Pam joined Just Slabs (Pty) Ltd as a contracts manager to help the company strategise and implement leaner and smoother systems. She continued to produce technical drawings, material schedules and bills of quantities.

At Just Slabs Pam successfully implemented an onsite sub-contractor installation programme and received the Directors Award before leaving to start her own architectural studio on 2002.

From early on in her career Pam has always believed that one of the greatest challenges facing the industry is non-compliance with fast changing building regulations. In fact, Pam reckons that 90% of properties that she visits do not comply with regulations.

Pamela Jean Architectural Studio was born partly in response to this important issue and continues to address compliance as a significant challenge in the industry. Therefore, not only is Pamela Jean a full-service architectural practice in the traditional sense, but it places strong focus on property audits, feasibility studies, site mapping, storm water management, minor town planning applications and other forms of legal property advice.
Unlike her competitors, Pam doesn’t just deal in pretty pictures; she works practically and purposefully and takes full charge of all Council applications, correspondence and approvals so that her clients can enjoy complete peace of mind.

Pamela has tertiary academic qualifications and is registered with the required and mandated associations to plan, design and oversee the construction of buildings. In addition she is registered on the Building Control Website and is deemed to be compliant to advise and practice energy efficiency in buildings in accordance with the SANS 10400:XA.
